About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travel in-between cities in china

I am currently trying to figure out if i can travel from shanghai to chongqing under the 240 transit visa. I will be flying from Okinawa Japan to Shanghai China, spend two nights in Shanghai and then fly or take a train to Chongqing. I want to be in chongqing for two nights and then take a roundtrip train ride to Zhangjiajie and then fly from Chongqing to Singapore. Will this itinerary be okay for the 240 visa?

Yes, your entire itinerary is definitely eligible for 240 hour visa free transit. You have every right to enjoy your 240 hours (10 days) by visiting the places and in the way you have presented. Also, you can enter China through Shanghai and exit it from Chongqing. Your itinerary has fulfilled the basic requirement ant that one is that you have to enter mainland China from one and exit it to another country. Perfect. I would like to suggest you one detail. It is much better to fly from Shanghai to Chongqing than taking a train. The distance is really too long. If the flight ticket you are looking for your date is expensive, you should wait until roughly a month ahead of your planned flight because at that time tickets usually become quite affordable. You can proceed with your travel plans with absolute peace of mind. Have a nice visit to China.
