Cris, the main problem in your itinerary is the fact that you plan to arrive to China from US and to return to US after your stay in China. As you can see, this is something that simply cannot be considered as a transit and is consequently not eligible for 240 hour visa free transit. The main and essential rule of 240 hour visa free transit is that the immediate points before and after mainland China have to be in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau). As you can see, if your both immediate points, before and after are in US, then the itinerary is not eligible. However, if you introduce a third country or eligible territory like, US - mainland China - South Korea - US, that would be fine for 240 hour visa free transit. As far as the dates and the itinerary within the China are concerned, they are definitely fine. You should just work out the detail regarding a third country within your whole itinerary. In any case, I wish you a pleasant stay in China.
