Esther, as in your previous query on other forum, if you want to go from Hong Kong to Shenzhen and then back to Hong Kong, your really only option is to use 5 day Shenzhen visa on arrival. This type of visa allows you to enter Shenzhen from Hong Kong, stay there as you wish (up to 5 days) and to return back to Hong Kong directly. It costs 130 CNY. If you want to use 240 hour visa free transit, you cannot return directly to Hong Kong, but you will need to insert a third country or territory for example Macau. So, if you want to use 240 hour visa free transit, you would have to take a ferry from Hong Kong to Shekou and exit to Macau. When you reach Macau, you can return back to Hong Kong. In order to use 240 hour visa free transit, you would have to stay in mainland China for at least 24 hours and have a ferry ticket for Macau from Shekou already in hand when you depart from Hong Kong. If you decide to take 5 day Shenzhen visa on arrival, you can choose to take a ferry to Shekou or even more convenient to take a train to Lo Wu / Luohu border crossing, but be there at least at 08:30 because the visa office opens at 09:00 and you want to beat the queues. You cannot take a high speed train from Hong Kong to Shenzhen, but you can take it back from Shenzhen to Hong Kong when your visit to Shenzhen is over. If you plan to take a high speed train from Shenzhen back to Hong Kong, the recommendation is to buy your ticket a couple of days in advance. Hope this helps.
