About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transiting from RC cruise to SK via Pudong Airport - eligible for 24 hr transit-free transit?

Hello! I have a cruise that begins and ends in Shanghai and I was planning to fly to Seoul out of Pudong after the cruise. What counts as "Country A" when you're disembarking from the cruise, is it the last place visited during the cruise? Would I be eligible for the transit-free visa in this case, if all I'm doing is transferring from the cruise to the airport?

I appreciate any clarification you can provide. Thank you! :)

You can rely on 24 hour visa free transit if the immediate points before and after your mainland Chinese stop (Shanghai in your case) are located in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau). In other words, if you plan to travel from Shanghai to Seoul then your "Country A" has to be different from both mainland China and South Korea. It can be Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan. If that is not the case and if your immediate point before Shanghai is in South Korea, you will have to fly out of Shanghai to any other country or eligible territory other than South Korea.

Also, if you create an eligible itinerary to look like country A - country B (mainland China) - country C, you are not limited to just 24, but you can enjoy 144 hour visa free transit as well.
