About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong to Shenzhen for onward travel

Hi,
I'm a NZ / UK dual citizen with a work permit for Hong Kong. I've noticed flights from Shenzhen airport are much cheaper than Hong Kong, can you advise on what kind of visa I would need if I wanted to travel into Shenzhen for a flight to New Zealand? Can I get the 24-hour visa at Hong Kong - Shenzhen border and then proceed to Shenzhen airport.
Thanks

Your situation is very clear and easy.

You will use your New Zealand passport because the citizens of New Zealand have a right to enter China absolutely visa free for a period of up to 15 days. In other words, you will just buy your train ticket from Hong Kong West Kowloon station to Shenzhen and nothing more is needed.

When the time comes, you will take a Shenzhen to New Zealand flight with absolute easiness. You do not have to bother about 24/144 hour visa free transit, Shenzhen 5 days visa or similar because you will enter China absolutely visa free. The only detail worth mentioning is that you will fill out an arrival card for mainland China at West Kowloon station where both Hong Kong and mainland China border authorities are located. Have a nice journey.
