Visa for naturalized US citizens

Hello. I got denied a visa despite having a US passport. Is it because I am a naturalized US citizen that holds dual nationality?

DJ, you did not specify what is your second citizenship. This detail is essential for a meaningful answer to your question. In case if you are a dual citizen of US and China, it is more than logical that your application for visa was denied because as a Chinese citizen you were supposed to appear at the Chinese border with a Chinese passport. To conclude, this is just my guessing because Chinese authorities would not have denied you a visa because you are a US naturalized citizen if your other citizenship is a non Chinese one.

In this case, it is very hard to judge what was in mind of the official who has denied a visa and what was the reason for such a negative approach. In reality, Chinese officials deal with so many citizens that were naturalized and this fact do not prevent naturalized citizens, being they US or some other citizens, to obtain a Chinese visa regularly and without problems. I can just say that I am so sorry for your really unpleasant experience.
