About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Traveling in China after extending the visa

I am in Shenzen, on a single entry tourist visa. My stay expires on Aug 1.

Can I apply for an extension in Shenzen, and use that extension to travel to another province for a couple of days, then come back to Shenzen, and exit China?

I think yes. You can apply for an extension at the local exit and entry administration. BTW, since you hold a regular visa, you can exit China Mainland from any port.
