Extending visa

I am currently on an X1 visa with 5 months left and I got an internship that requires 6 month minimum, Can I apply for another visa like F visa and have both? how best do I go about it?

No, you cannot hold two visas at the same time. Once you get another one, the previous one will turn invalid. Maybe you can extend your current visa before it expires.
