About:Chinese Permanent Residence Permit

Question

I have been living and working in China since 2008. I was married, but have since divorced--but I have a son who is a Chinese citizen. Everything I read is about having a spouse, but what about a child? The child just turned 5, since 2008, I havent spent more than 2 weeks outside of China. I have a stable job, high salary compared to chinese standards, havent had any trouble with the police, etc etc.

Do I have grounds to apply based on my son, and not a spouse? Do I have grounds to apply for any other reason? (i.e. length of stay (high impact on the economy--Ive been here for more than half my life!)

As I know, you can apply based on your work in China as you are a high salary worker and have been worked so many years in China. It may be easier than applying based on your son.
