Since recently, the citizens of the Philippines had quite a poor record in obtaining of Shenzhen visas, but since recently the situation has improved. I would say that a family would have very good chances now and a huge plus is your Hong Kong residency. You should definitely try, but you should be aware that all of you, children included, will have to pay for a Shenzhen VOA an amount of 130 CNY per person. Also, you are advised to arrive at Lo Wu (Luohu) border crossing earlier, preferably at around 08:30 in order to be certain that you will be accepted in the quota of those who will be processed for visa and to avoid the queues as well.
