I am a USA passport holder traveling to Hong Kong and would like to take the train to Beijing for 5

Do I need a visa to travel from Hong Kong to Beijing for 5 days. We will return to Hong Kong and back to the USA 3 Day after.

Yes, you will need a visa. If you fly back to USA from Beijing and your total stay in Beijing is less than 144 hours, you will be eligible for 144-hour visa-free transit.
