questions on visa application

Question

I am trying to fill out a visa application for china and the questions they are asking has me puzzled. I answered the normal questions like name, address and the like. but now I'am being asked my childrens names, birthdays and all sort of thing about my family. Is this normal? Could someone please reply to this?

Just fill in the application form on the official website: https://cova.mfa.gov.cn and there should be no problem. Also, please note, some blanks are not musts to be filled.
