About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Chengdu

Transit in Chengdu: Which ones will be eligible for 144 hours visa free transit?

Hi! We are planning a trip from Vietnam to Russia and saw a great opportunity to visit China on transit. On the way back we wanted to book the tickets specifically with about 2-3 days stopover in Chengdu( however the shortest travel time is with transit for about 8 hours). That shouldn't be a problem, as I understand? We're holding dutch, belgian, French and Russian passports. Which ones will be eligible for 144 hours visa free transit? Thanks in advance!

The citizens of Netherlands and France do not need any visa free transit or similar staff because they can travel to China absolutely visa free for stay of up to 15 days.

The citizens of Russia and Belgium are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit, but you have to have in mind the basic rule of 144 hour visa free transit and that is that the immediate points of your Chinese destination have to be in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau). Also, if you want to use 144 hour visa free transit, you are not allowed to have two mainland Chinese landings in a row, but just one. To simplify, you can use itinerary of this kind:

Ho Chi Minh City - Chengdu - Moscow

This is eligible for 144 hour visa free transit. However, an itinerary:

Ho Chi Minh City - Chengdu - Beijing - Moscow

Is not eligible.

Now, when you know the essence, you can proceed with your itinerary building.
