Five-day VOA for Norwegians

Hi, we have planned our trip to Hong Kong in March, but we want to travel to Shenzhen for two days. Can we get the five-day VOA in Hong Kong? We have booked hotel in Shenzhen and we plan to travel by train. Where should we get the visa?

Lars, Norway citizens can obtain a visa at three border crossings, but in your case probably the best one is Lo Wu / Luohu that can be reached by train from Hong Kong center. You are advised to be at the border crossing even before 09:00 in order to avoid the queues that form starting from 09:00. You do not need any particular documentation, but your hotel booking confirmation will be fine. The fee is 275 CNY payable by card. Please, have in mind that you cannot use high speed train to enter Shenzhen.

When you are done with Shenzhen, then you can return to Hong Kong by taking any border crossing and any mean of transport, high speed train included.

Hi! Norwegian just coming back from Shenzhen to Hk. When entering Shenzhen you take the MTR anywhere from the light blue line, until the end station Lo Wu. As soon as you go out on the station you arrive at immigration and you can get your VOA there. As of feb 2024 this costs 130 yuen (roughly 150hkd), this is now the base price for everyone not on the list.

Personally with a norwegian passport the whole process went really quickly and smoothly, especially compared to some of my other international friends.

Have a great trip to both HK and China!
