Do you need prove of hotel confirmation to apply for a VOA at Luohu

Can I apply for VOA at Luohu with a UK passport travelling from HK. Do I need a hotel reservation for the application.

No, you do not need a hotel confirmation, although you may be asked where will you stay. In reality, it is always good to have at least the first night booked and with confirmation at hand. In any case, even if you do not have, it will not have any negative impact as far as the granting of visa is concerned. Just an information that Shenzhen VOA has a bit steep price for UK citizens, that amounts to 834 CNY because of reciprocity. Also, you are advised to reach Lo WU (Luohu) border crossing even a bit before the visa office opening at 09:00 to avoid queues.
