About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

How to prove my route from Guangzhou to Macau

I am planning to go from Singapore-Guangzhou-Macau. However, there is no train or bus that go directly from Guangzhou to Macau. The available buses and trains, as far as I know, will go from Guangzhou to Zhuhai (Gongbei Port), and from there we can walk to Macau by foot.

As such, how to prove that I will be leaving China to go to Macau, if there is no ticket that I can buy for this route?

Jessica, since you are from Singapore and I assume a citizen of Singapore, you should be aware that the citizens of Singapore do not need a visa for a visit to China for up to 30 days. Consequently they are not subjects of 24 and 240 hour visa free transit at all. They can visit mainland China in the same way as they visit Malaysia, for example.

However, if you are not a citizen of Singapore, but some other country that needs a visa to enter mainland China and your citizenship is eligible for 240 hour visa free transit (for example Indonesia), then you can use the itinerary you have presented, but you will buy a ferry ticket from Shekou (a port in Shenzhen) to Macau through TurboJet ferry website (or some other that sells the tickets on this route) in advance in order to be eligible for 240 hour visa free transit. In other words you will take a train, bus or Didi from Guangzhou to Shekou port and then a ferry that sails directly to Macau. Also, you can take a direct train or ferry from Guangzhou (from Nansha or Pazhou ports) to Hong Kong and as soon you arrive there you can take a ferry to Macau. I hope this helps.
