About:China Visa Fees

I am travelling from Malaysia to Amsterdam through Guangzhou.

Was thinking to stay there for a night. Am I required to apply for a visa for 1,5 days in Guangzhou?

If you don't have any other stops in mainland China, then no visa is needed. Because you are eligible for the 24 / 144-hour visa-free transit.
