About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, Im Indonesian will fly fron Amsterdam - Beijing; and then Beijing - Bangkok; layover for 9 hours

Hi, Im Indonesian will fly fron Amsterdam - Beijing; and then Beijing - Bangkok; layover for 9 hours.

But the flights are with different airlines which means ai need to collect my luggage and re - check in.
1. Do I need any Visa if I only want to stay at the airport?
2. Do I need any Visa if I want go out explore Beijing for couple hours?

If you only stay at the airport and do not get out of the restricted transit area, you do not need to apply for anything; but if you want to leave the airport to have a sightseeing in Beijing, remember to apply for a 24h temporary entry permit at the border inspection counter. There is no need to apply for a visa in advance.
