About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Stockholm via Helsinki - Shanghai - Helsinki

Sweden citizen departing from SWEDEN Stockholm via Helsinki (2 hours transit) and then 6 days in Shanghai Return to FINLAND Helsinki, direct flight. Is this eligible? Thanks!

No, unfortunately, this is not possible. The essential rule of 144 hour visa free transit clearly states that the immediate points before and after a mainland China destination have to be in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories: Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau). In other words, your itinerary is a return trip that looks like Helsinki - Shanghai - Helsinki.

You are advised to alter your journey in order to have the immediate points in two different countries or to obtain a Chinese visa in advance.
