About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit visa at 2-stops in China

I fly in March following routes:

Amsterdam - Beijing - Guangzhou - Auckland and back

Auckland - Guangzhou - Beijing - Amsterdam.

Stay between 2 and 5 hrs

Can I apply for a transit visa or do I need a visa?

Thank you ☺️

You can do both of your itineraries visa free and covered by 24 hour visa free transit if your entire transit time in China is shorter than 24 hours. This time is counted from the time of your scheduled landing in Beijing, until your scheduled departure from Guangzhou... For your return journey, it is counted from your scheduled landing in Guangzhou, until your scheduled departure from Beijing... Now you can easily count the hours in both directions and if your entire journey through China is shorter than 24 hours, you do not need any kind of visa because you will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit.

Just one important detail... Upon your first landing in China, you will go first and immediately to 24/144 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit. This is for free and here you will present your flight itinerary, preferably in printout form. After a short check, you will be granted a temporary entry permit that allows you to take a flight to your next Chinese destination. The same for your return flight... Also, you will have to be very, very fast at the place where your layover is just 2 hours long...
