About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

2 stops flight with 1 China domestic flight

Hi

I am travelling on a single ticket with two connections in China:
Haikou Meilan (HAK) and Changsha Huanghua (CSX).

My itinerary is Vietnam – China – United Kingdom, and the total time spent in China is under 24 hours.

I hold a Lithuanian passport and have confirmed onward travel to a third country.

Could you please confirm that I am eligible for China’s 24-hour visa-free transit on this itinerary?

Yes, you are definitely and without any doubt eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. You will have to cross the immigration in order to collect and re-check your luggage, but you should not be worried about it at all. Here is what will you do upon your landing in Haikou:

- Upon landing in Haikou you will fill out arrival card and tick transit in the appropriate box on the arrival card
- Perform fingerprinting at automatic fingerprinting machine
- Approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will present your flight tickets, your arrival card and fingerprinting receipt
- You will receive a temporary entry permit in your passport
- You will cross the entry immigration because you will have to collect and re-check your luggage for your flight to UK and also because of the fact that your flight Haikou to Changsha is purely a domestic one regardless of the fact that it will be the same plane from Haikou all the way to UK
- You will collect your luggage and re-check it at the appropriate check-in counters
- When you have done it, you will head to the gate for your flight to Changsha.
- Upon landing in Changsha you will cross the exit immigration and head to the gate for your flight to UK

I would like to inform you that Lithuanian citizens are eligible for 240 hour visa free transit, so even if your entire flight itinerary is longer than 24 hours, you would be eligible for a longer scheme and you could travel also without a visa.

You can start your travel with absolute peace of mind and I wish you a great journey.

HELP
Bangkok - Shanghai (19:55 - 01:20)
7h 45 min transit in Shanghai
Shanghai - Ningbo (9:05am - 9:55am)
2h 30 min transit in Ningbi
Ningbo - Budapest (12:55 - 17:40)
Do I require a visa for such transit? My passport requires visa to China, but if I only transit inside China?

No, you do not require any kind of visa because your transit through China will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit. You should just follow the instructions I have provided to the Lithuanian gentleman and you will be fine. He had Haikou and Changsha transit points and you will have Shanghai and Ningbo. In reality, you will follow the same procedure, but you will have just one difference and that is - different cities. You can proceed with your travel itinerary with absolute peace of mind. Have a nice journey.
