About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Australian passport holder, are day trips to Shenzhen or Zhuhai allowed from Hong Kong?

My daughter holds an Australian passport, she is visiting my family in Hong Kong, can she take advantage of the 24 hour visa-free transit to enter Shenzhen or Zhuhai via Hong Kong ports and return back to Hong Kong the same day? If the answer is yes, what procedure does she need to go through? Thanks.

It is not eligible for the 24-hour visa-free transit as it is not a transit but a return trip. It is possible for her to get a 5-day Shenzhen visa on arrival or 3-day Zhuhai visa on arrival. However, once she requires either of them, she can only stay in the city she applied, Shenzhen or Zhuhai. She cannot visit two places with one visa.
