Hello,If I were flying from London to Beijing with a 60 hour stopover, then onto Melbourne to begin a working holiday visa in Australia, would I need a visa or any other type of permit for China? Can I visit the Great Wall while I am in Beijing?

You are eligible for 144-hour visa free transit. But to leave the airside and visit the Great Wall of China, you need to obtain a temporary stay permit at the airport, whihc costs nothing.
