About:Visa on Arrival

VOA Shenzhen.

Next week I will travel from HK-Macau Ferry Terminal to She Kou with the 9am ferry.
I have a German passport.

Is the situation in She Kou as bad as in Lo Wu regarding the waiting times for visa's?
is in She Kou an ATM where i can get Chinese money?

This is a good and in reality, the best idea to take exactly that ferry. You will encounter far less crowds and you will wait noticeably less compared to two overland border crossing visa offices. You are advised to buy your 09:00 ferry in advance through CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport Company website just to avoid potential disappointment if the ferry is sold out.

As far as the ATMs are concerned, I remember to have seen Bank of China ATM. There are probably more of them, but I really cannot confirm to have seen them. By the way, you will have to pay for a visa in a cashless form using your available card. The price is 168 CNY.

Thank you for your information, appreciated.

I thought cost for VISA needed to be paid cash, but now you say cashless.
Is that different in She Kou than at other border crossings?

It is cashless in every visa office. It used to be cash only, but now it is cashless only... I assume that this detail is aimed to speed up the entire process...
