can i apply for new x1 entry visa if i have valid resident permit?

Good afternoon sir.
Currently I have a valid resident permit. This year I won csc scholarship . My new university requirements they need new x1 entry visa . For that if I have valid residence permits can I apply for new x1 entry visa ?

You can apply for a new visa. But at the moment you get the new one, your resident permit will automatically turn invlaid. In other words, you will change a visa type.
