About:Visa on Arrival

Do I need to travel to a 3rd country with the 5 day visa?

The 144 hour visa says you must travel to a 3rd country after the visa expires (I.e. not return to the place you just were). Does the same limitation apply to the 5 day Shenzhen visa? I'll be flying into HK, plan to do 5 days in SZ, then return to HK. Would that be allowed? Or would I need to go elsewhere then HK?
Thanks

That is 144-hour visa-free transit but not a visa actually, so it requires to transit to another country or region. However, the 5-day Shenzhen visa is a visa on arrival so it is okay for you to have a return trip, you don't have to go to another country.

Thank you!
Do you think it's possible to first get the 5 day Shenzhen visa, then go back to Hong Kong on day 5.
Then on day 6, fly from Hong Kong to Beijing and get a 144 hr visa there. Then fly to Tokyo (for example) from Beijing after 6 days.
Would they issue 2 such visas back to back, or is there a 'waiting' period between getting the 1st and 2nd visa?

Yes, there is no problem of the transit itinerary. There is not any waiting period between them. Just don't stop at any other mainland Chinese cities.
