About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24-Hour TWOV Eligibility

I'm going to travel from Hong Kong Airport to Shenzhen by a MTR/city bus transportation and going to stay in Shenzhen up to 24 hours. Afterwards, direct flight SZX-KUL at 11:25 am. Am I eligible for a 24-Hour TWOV?

Actually, this is not an eligible way to use 24 hour visa free transit scheme. In other words, you are not eligible for 24 hour visa free transit because the only way how you can be eligible is to fly into Guangzhou since there are no flights between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

However, you are advised to rely on 5 days Shenzhen visa on arrival that you can obtain upon arrival on one of several border crossings. In my opinion, the best option is to take a ferry from Hong Kong directly to Shekou port, but be aware of the opening hours of Shekou port visa office: 9:00 - 13:00 & 14:30 - 16:30

The best option is to take a ferry departing from Hong Kong at 09:00.

Also, it is, at least at the time being, trying to cross the border and obtain this visa on the day of your departure, so you should definitely arrive in Shenzhen a day before. The waiting times for Shenzhen visa are quite long and in Shekou port are the shortest and this is the reason why I am suggesting you Shekou.

So, this is the best, but in the same time the only way how can you reach Shenzhen and to catch your flight to Kuala Lumpur.

Economy class: 140 HKD
First class: 180 HKD

I'm trying to book online on the CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport website from Sky Pier to She Kou ferry and an economy class costs to HK$310. It's a significant difference from what you wrote before (HK$140). Am I doing everything's right?

Hi LAOREU, the ticket fare varies for different ferries and seat classes. The one on the official web is the most up-to-date.
