Shenzen VOA port

Hi, why in the comments do you recommend the Shekou Port for VOA and not Huanggang Port? Huanggang can be accessed from HK in <30mins by taxi vs 1 hour by ferry for Shekou

That is correct, but you will wait for your visa at Huanggang port for roughly 4 to 6 hours under the conditions that you have reached it until 09:00 and in Shekou port up to 2 hours.

Thanks. So Ferry to Shekou departs HK 9am and arrives to port at 10am + up to 2 hours wait time for entry to shenzen = 3 hour transit.

Trip from HK to Luoho takes half that time and the wait is still up to 2 hours right? Why do you still recommend Shekou over Luoho for VOA?

Because the line for Luoho is also very long and people need to wait quite long hours. Anyway, it is true there are less people waiting in Shekou.

You are perfectly fine and free to do what you want, but it is a huge difference if you have to wait for 4 to 6 hours at visa office in both Huanggang and Luohu or up to 2 hours in Shekou. This is the only reason. The best detail is, it will be your choice.

Thank you for the response. The feedback is most helpful. I havent been able to confirm on a Shenzen government website that Shekou is now issuing VOA. I can only seem to find that Lu Wo is issuing VOA. Could you please share the link confirming Shekou is open for VOA entry? Are you certain Shekou is issuing VOA?

It is hard to find any official document about that. If you are still very worried, you can wait at Huanggang or Luohu. Good luck!
