About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

BANGKOK - HONG KONG - SHENZHEN - BANGKOK

We are in Bangkok currently and we are going to Hong kong, we will stay in Hong kong for a couple of days then we will head to Shenzhen the return back to Bangkok. So we are wondering if we could get the 144hr transit visa free.

No, this itinerary is not eligible for 144 hour visa free transit.

The only way how could you become eligible for this option is to fly by plane from Hong Kong to Guangzhou and then from either Guangzhou or Shenzhen to Bangkok. So, if you do that as I have explained, you will be allowed to stay, explore and travel within the entire Guangdong province visa free.

If you only want to stay in Shenzhen within its administrative boundaries and then to fly from Shenzhen on a nonstop flight to Bangkok, your best option is to obtain a 5 days Shenzhen visa on arrival (168 CNY for Cyprus citizens) at one of the border crossing between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, Luohu (Lo Wu) being the most convenient. If you decide for the second option, you should just know that the visa office at the border crossing is open just until 16:30.
