About:Visa on Arrival

HongKong to ShenZhen VOA

Hi Guys, I'll be travelling to HongKong next week and hoping to cross the border to ShenZhen the day I arrive in HK via VOA at the Luohu/Huangguang Port. I was hoping to check if there's a requirement that I actually have to stay a certain period in Hongkong before I can crossover to ShenZhen?
I would also like to check, once I apply VOA at port, do I have to cross immediately?
Really appreciate the advice. Also I'm holding a Singapore passport. Thanks in advance!

Since you are a Singaporean citizen you will be granted a Shenzhen VOA both at Luohu or Huanggang border crossings, but you should be aware that visa offices are open just until 16:30. There is no any required time you have to spend in Hong Kong before you apply for a Shenzhen visa. In other words, you can proceed immediately upon your landing in Hong Kong to the border crossing.

Also, you are perfectly allowed to travel directly by plane to Shenzhen and to obtain a Shenzhen VOA at the airport.

When you are granted a Shenzhen VOA you cannot return back to Hong Kong, but you have to proceed directly to Shenzhen. You cannot postpone the use of once granted VOA.

Thanks Borut!! Really appreciate the advice. We were quite trouble when we saw on another site that we had to stay past midnight when we land in HK before border crossing to SZ. May I also check if a PCR test is necessary for the VOA at either ports? Cheers!

I will repeat that you can proceed to Shenzhen directly from the airport without any problem. I am not exactly certain about the necessity of the PCR/antigen test because there was a feedback that persons arriving from the territory of Hong Kong do not need it. I cannot confirm this detail. If I were you I would do the test in Singapore, at least antigen one and bring it with me. Just for a case.
