Chinese visa application from Hanoi

Hello

I would like to apply for a Chinese tourist visa (type L). I am French and will be travelling for 9 days in Vietnam next month, and want to do my Chinese visa in Hanoi. How long will it take for me to make the visa? Do I simply need my passeport, visa application filled, and 2 pictures?

I would really appreciate an answer ASAP, thank you!

It's recommend to apply in your homecountry. The possibility to get a visa in a third country is low, especially when you are just a tourist there. In addtion to application form and passport, the travel itinerary and hotel bookings in China are also needed.

Thank you for your answer. However I have no way of going back to my home country now to apply for the visa, so doing it from Hanoi is my only option. Why could that be a problem?

Just according to previous feedbacks, it's more easily to get the visa in one's home country or the country or region one is residing. If you really want to try in Hanoi, submit your travel permit to Hanoi, too.
