About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

9 hours transfer in Beijing travelling from Hanoi to Budapest

So I'm about to take the flight back home from Vietnam via China. I've been to China on a tourist visa quite a lot recently but for this reason this time I'm hoping to just get in the transit area. Am I eligible for 24 hours transit visa? If yes do I have to pass through immigration or can I just stay in the transit area until my flight takes off?

The citizens of Hungary can enter, stay, explore China absolutely visa free for up to 30 days. Consequently you do not need any kind of visa or any kind of visa free transit. All these options are irrelevant for you. In other words, you will choose whether you will exit the airport (in case of a long layover) or whether you will just stay in the transit area of the airport you will use for your transit.

In case if you choose to stay in the transit area only, this is quite straightforward. You really do not have to perform any formality nor will you fill out any forms. You will just walk from one (arrival) until another (departure) gate and you will not be a subject of immigration or customs inspection. Basically you will just encounter a security check (metal detector and the stuff) between the two gates. Have a pleasant transit at the Chinese airport of your choice.
