About:Overstaying in China & Penalty

Overstaying VISA while under Work Permit Procedure

Hello a friend of mine is under overstay for 3 days already, because she is changing job and her new work permit hasn't been approved yet, she needs it to apply for her new VISA? Does she risk anything by overstaying on her current VISA for let's say a week while her new work permit is under process?

It's not a big problem if the overstay is one week. But to avoid any trouble, I recommend her to apply for a temporary visa and after she get the work permit, renew it to a work visa.
