tourist visa without return flight

Question

Hello,I need to travel to Beijing to renew my passport with my countries embassy (there is not one in the country I live). Passport renewal can take up to one month and I cannot change passport details once a flight ticket is bought. Do I need to pay for a return ticket to get a tourist visa and will it be for 3 months? Could I still get a visa if I explain my situation?

I'm afraid you cannot get a tourist visa to China during the pandemic period. You may contact the embassy of your country in China for other solutions.
