Visa Type Questions

I have had an L visa but needed to visit last year for business. I had read that you don’t want to be caught in the country on the wrong visa. So I applied for and received an M visa. Both were 10 year 60 day multiple entry, not sure if that matters. However, they cancelled the L visa when issuing the M visa.

Now I still never got a straight answer from anyone on wether it was ok to travel on the L visa for business meetings. Most people told me not to worry about it, but I don’t want to the wrong thing.

So I have two questions, do I need to reapply for an L visa or should I stick with the M even when traveling to visit family?

Secondly, should I apply for a Q1 instead of an L? (my wife is Chinese)

You can use this M visa even you will travel to visit family (not during the epidemic period). It's not necessary to apply for a Q1 visa if you not intend to stay too long.
