About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Macao - Hong Kong arriving questions

Hi, I have basically 2 questions:
1) if I'm travelling Macao-Shanghai-South Korea then will I be qualified for 144 hours visa-free transit? I have a passport that gives me that opportunity, but not sure if Macao status and if it has the same exceptional rights as Hong Kong.
2) If I would use Hong Kong - Shanghai bullet train as transport from country A to China, will I be declined with 144 hours visa-free transit?

1) Macau has the same status as Hong Kong legally speaking so yes.
2) All travels on HSR require a visa because you won't be going through immigration in Shanghai that way. Only the conventional train (which takes roughly 24 hours) is eligible. However at this point both train stations are closed and it is unknown when they will be reopened. Also by traveling to China you risk being refused entry by a handful of other countries currently.
