About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24hr TWOV at Shanghai Airport

Hi there, I will be flying Sydney, transit HK, Shanghai and back to Sydney direct same day. I would like to exit in Shanghai for the day. Will that be possible?

Yes, you can enjoy the 24hrs TWOV at Shanghai Airport and leave for the downtown to have some sightseeing.

Just be sure all of these flights are non-stop and not for example on Cathay Pacific both ways.

Also if you have a same-day connection you may not be granted the temporary entry permit to leave the airport.
