About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Am I eligible for TWOV 24Hr?

Hi, Nice to e-meet you!

I am an Indonesian citizen holding an Indonesian passport.

I would like to take a flight (as attached) with routing as follows: BUD-SZX-HAK-CGK (Budapest-Shenzen-Haikou-Jakarta) each transit in SZX and HAK for 4hrs.

My question is, the segment for SZX-HAK requires me to exit immigration in SZX and continue domestic flight to HAK and then continue international flight to CGK .

Since I don’t have a Chinese visa, will I eligible to get the TWOV(Transit Without Visa) 24Hrs in SZX? and exit immigration and continue my journey to HAK domestically?

Gangga, your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 (and even 240) hour visa free transit and you do not need a visa of any kind. Here is what will you do upon your landing in Shenzhen:

1. Before your departure from Budapest, you will fill out Chinese arrival card through the official website for free: https://s.nia.gov.cn/ArrivalCardFillingPC/entry-registation-home
2. Upon your landing in Shenzhen you will perform fingerprinting at automatic fingerprinting machine
3. Approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit by presenting your flight tickets. This is all free of charge.
4. When you have received your temporary entry permit in your passport you will head to the immigration and after that to the gate for the domestic flight to Haikou.
5. Upon landing in Haikou you will just cross the exit immigration and head to the gate for your flight to Jakarta. This is all.

One more detail. You will check with the airline, during your check-in in Budapest, whether your luggage will be tagged all the way to Jakarta or if you will have to collect it and re-check it at some point. This is not a problem at all since your layovers are each 4 hours long. So, do not forget to ask about this detail just to be prepared for such an eventuality. I hope this helps.
