Extending Stay Without Exiting Mainland China

Hello,

I am currently staying in Hunan Province on a tourist visa and required to leave the country at the end of February. With the coronavirus ordeal going on at the moment, I would prefer to stay put for another month or so if possible. Are there any options available for situations like these? Thank you.

There are no known special relief measures from National Immigration Administration offices. If you have a 10-year visa then an extension will render it invalid anyway. Moreover, the State Department has clearly indicate that US citizens should leave China immediately and has issued a "do not travel" advisory.
