About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hr visa-free transit

I would like to ask your help with the following:
I am a UK citizen & passport holder, traveling from Istanbul to Beijing where I will stay for 4 days.
Then I will fly to Shanghai & board a ship for Japan.
I will return to Shanghai & stay overnight then return to Istanbul.
Do I qualify for the 144 hour Visa -Free Transit?
Many thanks for your help.

The first entry to China requires a visa. You may get a multiple-entry visa to cover the second entry too. If you changed your flight to fly to Shanghai instead of Beijing then you would qualify for visa-free transit in both directions.
