Question about Hotel Booking Confirmation

Hi, I am planning to visit Kunming as tourist.

Is it compulsory that we book our flight tickets and hotels first before applying for the visa?

Yes, if you don't know anyone in China, you have to book your flight tickets and hotels before applying for the visa. These booking documents are required for visa application.
