About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Confirmation of 144hrs visa free stay in shanghai please

We are flying from UK directly to Shanghai on 5/3/25 and boarding a cruise ship on 9/3/25 to sail to Japan for a week then disembarking in Shanghai for one night stay before flying back to London the next day.
On reading this information it appears we can apply for the 144hrs visa free stay.
Is this correct please?
Thank you for your help

Yes, this is correct. Your entire itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai - twice.

You should just have in mind that your cruise is required to have its first docking after Shanghai in a country different than mainland China and it is also required to have its last docking before Shanghai also in a country different than mainland China in order that you maintain your eligibility for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai - twice.

Have a nice journey.
