About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hours visa question ( Hong Kong Luohu land border crossing)

I am coming from Japan to Hong Kong then, 5 days later I will fly from Hong Kong to France.
( 2 different one way tickets)

1) Can I get a 144 hours visa at Luohu border and visit some friends in Guangdong?
2) Is it compulsory I show air ticket from Hong Kong to France when applying for 144 hours visa in Luohu border?

thanks

That is not a transit so you cant do 144 hour visa free.
The only thing you can do at the border is get 5 day Visa on Arrival for Shenzhen but you cannot leave the city limits with it.

Thanks for your reply.
Is this 5 days visa for Shenzhen available at Luohu Border also?
Do you know the opening time of the office granting this visa?
What conditions are required / asked when applying for this visa at Hong Kong / Shenzhen Luohu border?

thanks again for your prompt answer!

Actually, Lo Wu / Luohu border crossing is by far the best place to apply and to obtain a 5 day Shenzhen VOA. This border crossing is open from 06:30 in the morning until 24:00 in the night.

Usual price for a VOA is 168 CNY, although some citizenship pay more, for example UK citizen pay 304 and US citizens 956 CNY. There are no particular requirements that one has to fulfill to obtain this visa. You can just declare that you go to Shenzhen for a tourism purposes, shopping and similar. Probably seeing friends is something that you can skip because this will lead to some other questions - about your friends. If you intend to make overnight(s) in Shenzhen, you are advised to have at least the first overnight booked in advance. You can bring this confirmation with you.

By the way, border officials are not interested about your ticket from Hong Kong to France at all. Also, keep in mind that with this visa, you are limited to Shenzhen city limits.

No, you actually don't, but if asked you will just declare that you intend to do a day trip.

thanks for your reply.
For example if I stay 5 days in Shenzhen and back to Hong Kong, could I apply again immediately for a 5 days visa in Shenzhen?
thanks

You technically can although very few people have done that. Shenzhen is not that large and the visa itself prohibits travels outside Shenzhen anyway.
