144 Hour VISA Free Question

I am flying from Washington DC (IAD) to Beijing (PEK) then back to Washington DC (IAD). I am staying for 5 days in Beijing. Does this qualify for 144 hour VISA Free?

Of course not. That’s a visit to China and not a transit. You must get a visa or change your flights.
