No, you don't need any kind of visa because your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit.

As you can see, you will be less than 24 hours in China counting from your first scheduled arrival in Guangzhou, until your final scheduled departure from Xi'an. This is the main detail that makes you eligible for this visa free transit option.

You will print out your flight tickets and have those printouts with you. Also, you will declare at check-in in Manila that you will travel to London via China using 24 hour visa free transit. After a short inspection of your tickets, you will be allowed to board the plane.

Upon arrival in Guangzhou, you will immediately approach 24 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit. It will be definitely granted to you because your next flight section is considered domestic. You have to inform yourself about your luggage because if you are traveling on separate tickets you will have to collect your luggage at one point and also perform new check-in.
