China Visa Question

I'm flying from uk to china for a 5 day organised tour next March. I then fly to Hong Kong to start an 11 day cruise. The cruise itinary includes a 2 day stop over in China before continuing to Japan. Could you advise me if I require a single or double entry tourist visa to cover both the China tour and cruise. Thank you.

Trudy, for your 5-day organized tour, if it's only in one city, you may enjoy 144h visa-free transit policy, so visa is possibly not required.

For the layover in China, if it's in one mainland Chinese city, you may not need a visa either. The exact answer depends on your travel route.

Many thanks or your answer Rosina
The tour starts in Beijing for 3 nights, continues to Xian by train for 2 nights then a flight from Xian to Hong Kong. The cruise itinerary includes a 2 day stopover in Shanghai before continuing to Japan.

Well, then you need to get a single entry visa for mainland China.
