Traveling to china visa question

Good morning if I go from the US to shanghai and stay there for 4 days and then go to Bangkok for 4 days and return back to shanghai just to catch my plane the same day back to the US do I need a Visa?

According to the situation, you are eligible for 144 hours visa free policy. Thus you don't need to have a visa.
