About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Colombian Passport

Hi, I am travelling to China and have 12-hour layover in China. There are different tickets in and out of the country. Does it have to be the same airline and have them in and out flight on the same itinerary?

It is perfectly allowed to travel on separate tickets and different airlines, of course, if your itinerary is eligible for 24 hour visa free transit.

You will print out your flight tickets and have those printouts with you. Also, you will declare at check-in in your origin country (A), that you will travel to country C via China (country B) using 24 hour visa free transit. You will present your flight tickets and after a short inspection, you will be allowed to board the plane. Upon arrival in China, you will approach 24 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit. This permit will be granted to you because you will have to collect your luggage and perform a recheck.

Basically, this is it.
