Philippine passport holders not allowed?

I am a frequent traveller and would like to have a side trip to Shenzhen from HK. Does it mean I won't be granted a 5 day VOA becoz I am a philippine passport holder? Is there other option?

Unfortunately, Philippine citizens are currently not eligible even if they have been granted a Chinese visa previously. You are advised to obtain a Chinese visa in advance or to postpone your travel. In reality, the only other option would be 6-Day Visa Exemption for Tourists to Pearl River Delta. This is the option where you can join a tour to the most interesting parts of Guangdong province by an authorized, Hong Kong based tourist agency. You can, of course, create a tour according to your wishes and the agency can perform exactly such a tour, visa free. Of course, this requires that you start a conversation with several Hong Kong based agencies and see which one will offer you the best conditions. This is a bit tiresome process, but this option is available.
