VOA at Shenzhen airport for South Africans

Hello,
We are South African citizens and will be arriving at Shenzhen Airport from Bangkok.
Can we get our 5 day Shenzhen visa at the airport, and how much will it cost?
Also, we have visited Turkey frequently for shopping and I notice that a passport stamp from Turkey may cause the VOA to be rejected. Is this a serious issue?

Thank you! :-) Great answer, but bad news - we fly on the 9th of November and we may not be able to get a visa in time.

Thank you, your answer was spot on.
Some feedback for others' benefit: We applied in Cape Town for the visas on Tuesday 29 October & picked it up on Wednesday 6 November.
We did have to explain our multiple trips to Turkey though, but in the end the visa was approved.

Roelf, unfortunately, South African citizens are not eligible for 5 day Shenzhen VOA. Also, anybody who intend to visit Shenzhen should not even think about a travel where he/she will rely on a Shenzhen VOA when arriving by plane. Such a person will be never be allowed a boarding at all.

Since you intend to stay in Shenzhen for 5 days, your only way how to do that is by obtaining a Chinese tourist (L) visa in advance.

You will definitely be able to obtain a visa on time, but you have to apply literally tomorrow!
